Dead Set £9.90

November 18th, 2008

Cheap DVD.Dead Set.jpg E4’s recent take on its own Monster Hit ‘Big Brother’, see’s fictional housemates battling against the undead in this grisly sendup. From the pen of Charlie Brooker, a writer more known for his comedy than horror with such writing credits as the Fast Show and the little known sitcom Nathan Barley, and there is a definite dark humour running throughout the series. Not for the feint hearted though, as you’d expect with Zombie’s there’s lots of blood and body parts being gnawed. Worth buying if only to see Davina go all flesh-eating Zombie on an eviction night.

Cant wait for next years ‘I a Zombie get Me out of here’ :)

Cheapest Doctor Who Series 4 Boxset

November 14th, 2008

Cheapest Doctor Who Series 4.jpgReleased on the 17th November, the 4th Series of the New Doctor Who featuring David Tennant & Catherine Tate (and it will also be Tennants last full series, with just 4 more specials on the cards before he steps aside for a new Doctor). Including the Christmas special from 2007, this set boasts some fine episodes (even I managed to accept Catherine Tate as Donna Noble in the end), including Silence in the Library, and some barn storming cliffhangers (one in particular involving a surprise regeneration had the whole nation talking).

Best price for Doctor Who the Complete 4th Series is currently £45.49 at Sendit.

Available instore only you can pick up Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull for a mere £8 at Morrison’s and Asda. Love it or hate it, this is a great price for the 4th Indiana Jones Movie, which was an unsubtle of pastiche 1960’s America, complete with Commie’s, Nuclear Bombs and UFO’s. Naff, but still better then Temple of doom if you ask me.

The Santa Clause Collection £9.98

November 9th, 2008

Cheap Santa Claus Boxset.jpg The kids love a good Christmas movie in our house, especially on Christmas Eve, when its become a kind of tradition for us all to sit around with the TV with some home cooked festive fair courtesy of my wife. This year I thought I’d look early and and found this boxset to keep the tradition going. Containing all 3 Santa Clause movies, and a definite favourite with the kids for only £9.98.

The Santa Clause: It’s the night before Christmas when toy salesman Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) finds himself in an awkward predicament. The real Santa Claus has fallen off his roof and his “emergency card” instructs Scott to take his place. But by putting on the Santa suit, Scott unknowingly accepts all the responsibilities of the rosy-cheeked legend. With his young son by his side, Scott starts a comical new life of weight gain, beard growth, narrow chimneys and elves with attitude!

The Santa Clause 2: Santa’s got problems and things quickly go south when he finds out that his son, Charlie, has landed on this year’s “naughty” list. Desperate to help his son, Scott heads back home, leaving a substitute Claus to watch over things at the Pole. But when the substitute redefines naughty and nice, putting Christmas at risk, it’s up to Scott to return with a new bag of magic to try to save Christmas!

The Santa Clause 3: Tim Allen reprises his role of Scott Calvin-aka Santa as he juggles a full house of family and the mischievous Jack Frost (Martin Short), whose chilling Santa envy has him trying to take over the “big guy’s” holiday. At the risk of giving away its secret location, Scott invites his in-laws, Sylvia and Bud Newman (Ann-Margret and Alan Arkin) to the North Pole to share in the holiday festivities and be near their daughter, Carol (Elizabeth Mitchell)-aka Mrs. Claus- as she prepares for the eagerly anticipated birth of baby Claus.
