This boxset brings you  series one and two of the comedy show Extras. In series one, Andy Millman (Ricky Gervais) is an actor but his agent(Stephen Merchant cannot get him an acting job. The only work he can find is extras parts, a different film a different location, each time  hopeful that one day he will  get some speaking parts.  Extras is a great comedy that many big named stars what to appear in, including actors such as Ben Stiller, Kate Winslett, Samuel.L Jackson, Patrick Stewart, Ross Kemp and Les Dennis. All the actors are more than happy to send themselves up, in some hilarious scenes. Series two of Extras  finds Andy commissioned by the BBC to create and star in the sitcom ‘When The Whistle Blows’.  Andy’s happiness with his achievement is soon dampened when he finds he has to make a lowest common denominator show in order to appeal to the broadest possible audience.  He has been told that he has to wear large glasses and a curly perm wig, and not to mention the wonderful catch phrases.  Andy attempts to adjust to fame and life in the public eye and the compromises that come with, including the strained friendship with his best friend Maggie (Ashley Jensen).
