Zac Effron finally managed to escape the shackles of High School Musical earlier this year with the release of a new comedy which treads the time honoured path set by Freaky Friday, Big, Vice Versa and bucket load of other Young again movies. ‘17 Again’ sees Mike O Donnell (Zac Effron/Mathew Perry) getting a second chance at his life after going from High School Basketball star to a has-been loser with a dead end job and a failing marriage. Seemingly out of nowhere, Mike is transported back into his teenage body and given the given the unique opportunity to relive his salad days. Trouble is, he may look 17, but he still thinks like a 30 something. Much hilarity ensues…

New Releases
Due for release on the 10th of August, The Black Guardian Trilogy includes the third, fourth and fifth stories of the twentieth season and they were conceived as a trilogy reintroducing the Black Guardian.
Mawdryn Undead
The Black Guardian recruits a young man named Turlough to assassinate the Doctor. Although outwardly an ordinary pupil at a boys’ private boarding school, Turlough is in fact an alien who believes that the Guardian will return him home if he succeeds.
Terminus
The TARDIS attaches itself to a space liner after Turlough, still under the Black Guardian’s influence, damages its controls. The Doctor and Nyssa meet two space pirates, Kari and Olvir, who have come on board the liner in search of plunder, while Tegan and Turlough get lost in the infrastructure.
Enlightenment
The White Guardian warns of impending danger and directs the TARDIS to what appears to be an Edwardian sailing yacht, the SS Shadow, but is actually one of a number of spaceships taking part in a race through the solar system, the prize being Enlightenment.
Available at this price for a limited time only, pre-order the Black Guardian Trilogy from Sendit for only £24.89

Well its the week the kids have been waiting for. Not only are they off school (well mine are anyway, feels like they’ve just gone back after christmas!), but this week sees the release of High School Musical 3 on DVD. This time the High School Gang are facing graduation but they still find the time to sing and dance about it. Ashley Tisdale, one of the stars of HSM3 also stars in ‘Picture This’, which I’m told is about a mobile phone, a party and popular people in school. Also released is ‘Whitechapel’, a 3 part drama surrounding the investigation into a modern day Jack the Ripper in London’s East End. ‘Righteous Kill’, is a Robert De Niro and Al Pacino Vehicle, about a couple of grizzled detectives who team up to track down another Serial Killer. Apart from the cast its not much to write home about. Scifi is represented with the Release of ‘Mutant Chronicles’, set 700 years into the future on a post apocalyptic Earth with the last remnants of mankind battling against mutant hordes.
Anyway, Heres the pick of this weeks releases and their current best prices:

This weeks DVD release highlights include, the Coen Brothers, ‘Burn After Reading’ a trifling movie compared to some of their other works, but with Hollywood A-Listers Brad Pitt and George Clooney on board was always guaranteed to be a hit. Taken Sees Liam Neeson taking on anyone with a foreign accent in an effort to seek revenge for the kidnapping of his daughter, while a couple of kids movies get released, ready for the upcoming half term break in the form of Open Season 2 and Sidney White.
